Laura Kahl, a team member at the Wisconsin insurance broker, has taken on the mission of the National Honor Flight Network – the mission to fly WWII veterans to see their memorial at the nation's capital at no cost. With experience as a guardian on a Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, Kahl is now offering local veterans a chance to view the world premiere of filmmaker Dan Hayes' documentary, "The Story of Stars and Stripes Honor Flight."
Kahl is offering free tickets and coach transportation to veterans of any conflict, not just WII, and a guest to attend the premiere of "The Story of Stars and Stripes Honor Flight," which will be held August 11, 2012 at Miller Park and shown on the stadium's new high-definition video board. A pre-event tailgate will be hosted when the parking lots open at 3:30 p.m., during which there will be WWII reenactments and live music. When the stadium opens at 4:30 p.m., veterans and their families will have the opportunity to view and take photos with a Pillars of Honor WWII Memorial model. The film will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a closing ceremony of fireworks and a flyover.
