SPRINGFIELD, Ill -- The Illinois Senate has followed the lead of the Illinois House, and passed a bill which could make state retirees pay for a percentage of their health insurance.

The House passed the bill Wednesday, and Thursday night, Governor Pat Quinn said he would sign the bill.

The measure is one of the ways, along with reductions in Medicaid funding and pension reform, Quinn plans to cut the state's runaway spending.
